Last week Bethesda made the Fallout 4 next-gen update available for free to all PlayStation Plus players, but due to an error or by design the PlayStation network did not allow the free upgrades, and some players were even prompted to pay.

So, basically speaking, not all who received Fallout 4 via the PlayStation Plus were able to upgrade to the native PS5 version for free when the update went live. This sparked controversy and confusion among all PS players who were eagerly waiting for the update.

But that was not all, the next-gen release of Fallout 4 has been riddled with bugs and even the Steam deck version was not up to the hype.

However, there is good news still for the PlayStation Plus players, Bethesda has finally worked it out and brought the update back to the PNS for all PS Plus subscribers. In a statement, Bethesda stated, “Thanks for letting us know that some PS Plus subscribers have been unable to access the free next-gen update of Fallout 4 on PlayStation. This issue has now been successfully resolved. Subscribers who have previously received Fallout 4 from the PlayStation Plus Collection should now be able to access the update as intended.

The PS Plus Collection was a promotion that gifted PS5 owners who subscribed to PS Plus with many PS4 games to play on their new consoles and the Fallout 4 had been removed form the list of games available in the collection in May of last year.
