Is Your VPN Not Working After Windows Update? Here’s Why

Many of us pretty much update our windows as soon as a new update drops, but that’s not always a good thing. Earlier this week, Microsoft stated in a comment that the most recent security update for Windows 10 and 11 might introduce some bugs that may break VPN connections.

According to the company, “Windows devices might face VPN connection failures after installing the April 2024 security update KB5036893.” Microsoft has also stated that they have no fix for the issue at present but they will be working on it to provide a resolution in a future update.

And that’s not all, unfortunately for most Windows users, the number of affected clients is rather large too.

Windows 11 (23H2, 22H2, and 21H2), as well as Windows 10 (22H2 and 21H2), will be affected by this bug. The company has also commented that, if you’re facing this issue, you can launch the Windows Get Help app to inform Microsoft of the problem.

This comment doesn’t really sound like a real solution though. Well, according to a random Redditor, Windows users could always try uninstalling the most recent update. Otherwise, all we can really do is wait till Microsoft fixes the problem.
