Google has just finished wrapping up the launch of the new Pixel 8a and the Pixel Tablet. And now they have also started rolling out the May security update to all Pixel phones on May 7th.

In its community post, Google announced that the update will roll out to the Pixel devices that are presently running Android 14, which includes the Pixel 5a and later models. While the rollout began on May 7th, Google says that it will be pushing out the updates in phases over the next week, depending on the carrier and model of the handset.

While this May update includes the latest security patch, it will also bring in some bug fixes and improvements for Pixel users. The improvements can be seen in the stability or performance of Bluetooth LE audio for the aforementioned Pixel devices, including the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.

Previously, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro owners who were facing camera issues were fixed by this update. The latest Pixel phone update will be followed by the Wear OS update, which will also be rolling out to Pixel watches in phases over the next week.

With the monthly updates and the Pixel 8a launch, Google will now be prepping for the Google I/O 2024 event which is scheduled for May 14. 2024. This is only just a week away. We can expect the Android 15 reveal along with other things that Google is planning for the coming future.
