Recently HMD launched a Barbie Handset phone that comes with texts, calls, flip and camera features without internet. It’s a hot pink device. The Barbie phone opens & shuts with a flip and has a bold logo of “Barbie” at the backside. The HMD Barbie Handset is a doll collection for iconic fashion.

HMD collaborated with Mattel (a toy making company), which had been structured and sold Barbies related accessories and toys since 1959. The final cost for a Barbie phone in the United Kingdom is just $130.74 (£99). HMD is planning to launch Barbie Handset soon in the United States.

Barbie flip phone with no social apps

Customers choosing the gadget for its less harmful effects and no social media creates peace in their lives and the concept “digital detox” declutter the worst part and become popular. It also encourages everyone to switch off the browsing and switch to real fun with “Barbie” (a true cultural icon).

HMD described, the phone has a camera with 0.3 megapixels and also with flash light to take pictures in “Y2K style”. Barbie frame feature is also available in camera. The handset sells with 2 interchangeable back covers (colorful swirls and shooting heart design), a hot pink Barbie cover. It also has a phone strap with pastel beads and stickers of Barbie-themed.

HMD and Mattel got the launching Idea from the blockbuster movie “Barbie” released last year in 2023 which profited $1.4 billion at the box office. Either it’s quite late as the film got released last year in July month. HMD Global rebranded itself as Human Mobile Devices before this year. On devices selling Nokia is earning royalty payments along with its brand by HMD.
In 2016, HMD got the rights to sell Nokia brand phone devices. Microsoft struck a deal with Foxconn Technology (electronics industry supplier) with Nokia brand in the year 2016.
