Nintendo recently announced that the Switch 2 will be revealed by the end of this fiscal year. And just a couple of days after that announcement, we have more details about what you can expect from the Switch 2 thanks to a series of leaks.
The media company Android Authority has compiled the leaks into a single report that details everything from giving us a look at the specs of the device to when the console might be released and whether or not it will be backward compatible with the best Nintendo Switch games out there.
The first leak from comes from a popular Nintendo message board called Famiboards and the user LiC, which dug into shipments and customs data between Nintendo, NVIDIA, and other companies. Their finding suggests the Switch 2 would have 12GB of RAM with 2x 6GB LPDDR5X modules. The RAM would offer a 7,500MT/s transfer have 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
While this won’t look like much right now if you compare it to the likes of Xbox and Playstation, but, you need to remember that this is a handheld, and compared with the 64GB that Nintendo presently offers, this is a pretty big jump.
The final two pieces of information provided by CentroLeaks concern the Switch 2 controllers. They will reportedly include built-in microphones, which could result in some interesting gameplay changes. They also claim the next Switch has an 8-inch display, which is a full inch bigger than the Switch OLED model. We’ve heard about a larger display before, so this leak seems to back up that earlier claim.
