Meta is introducing a suite of features, including HD video calling, AI-generated backgrounds, and noise suppression in its Messenger app.
Moreover, Meta aims to compete with other popular smartphone video-calling apps like Google Meet, Zoom, and FaceTime. These commonly used apps have already been featured for years.
Powered by Artificial Intelligence, users will be able to generate backgrounds during video calling. To try this feature in Messenger, tap the “effects” icon in a call sidebar. Illustrate what you want as a background in the prompt box. Ultimately, Messenger will design an AI background based on your preferences. Additionally, Meta has rolled out AI generative image features on Instagram and Facebook.
Alongside, Meta introduced HD video calling to enhance video quality and make it more engaging. You can simply turn on these features using mobile cellular data in the “Call Settings” menu, or enable them by default on Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, background voice suppression and voice isolation help you make clear and high-quality voice calls. Meta stated that Messenger can “feel more than ever like being in a room together. “ You can enable voice suppression and isolation features through “Call Settings” in Messenger.
Meta also rolled out audio and video messages. Now, you can leave voice and video messages for your family and friends when they are not able to answer the call. These features can be turned on by tapping the “Record Button” to send messages for unanswered calls.
Hands-free calling and messaging is another feature to make an extra-level calling experience. When your hands are not free, just say, “Hey Siri, send a message to Cassandra on Messenger” and then dictate what that message will be.” The message will be sent automatically to your person.
However, these creative features will transform the way of video and audio calls.
