Apple To Release M4 MacBook Air Series Ahead Of Low-Cost iPad and iPhone SE 4

With the introduction of M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max CPUs along with the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, it may have been indicated that Apple will hold off on releasing the MacBook Air lineup. 

However, in the recent updates, a different strategy has been suggested. While many are eager for an early release of the iPhone SE 4, it seems additional portable Macs with upgraded chipsets will be available for the users instead. 

Although no specific date or month for the launch has been disclosed, the M4 MacBook Air models are expected to arrive sooner than anticipated. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest ‘Power On’ newsletter revealed that the 13-inch and 15-inch M4 MacBook Air models are well into production. He also shared information about which Apple product will make its debut first in 2025. 

Surprisingly, the first one to be released will not be the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4 or the iPad 11, these devices are supposed to be launched in the spring of next year. The absence of a specific launch schedule is not necessarily negative as it has been established that the 13-inch and 15-inch M4 MacBook Air will not undergo significant design changes. 

Aside from an upgrade in specifications, we should not expect much else. As has been mentioned previously, it is similar to the new MacBook Pro models, Apple might increase the unified RAM to 16GB and enhance the base storage to 512GB. Considering the limitations of an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, especially with no upgrade options. 

The 13-inch and 15-inch M4 MacBook Air are likely to maintain their fan-less design, making use of large heatsinks to manage heat dissipation. While this method may not be the most effective one to control temperature. Many users will appreciate the lighter weight of both models and the quiet operation they offer.
