It’s been almost three years since Apple first introduced the AirTag, its item tracker that integrates with any of its Apple devices. But since the release, little has been heard from Apple about its plans for the next generation of AirTags, except that it will be coming in 2025.

According to a recent report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, on Sunday, Apple announced that it plans to release the next generation of AirTag by the middle of next year. The journalist also reported that the company has been doing manufacturing tests with its partners in Asia to be able to ship the product by its 2025 deadline.

The new AirTag will be shipped with new generation U1 chips that can easily work over a distance of 10 meters, but the new generation will be able to work over 60 meters.

This has allowed Apple to create a new feature that lets users find their friends with precision.

The company will also be introducing new versions of the AirTag in different shapes, and of course, this also includes accessories as well. We can only wait and see what Apple has planned to do with the new AirTags.
