World of Warcraft completed 20 years in the gaming industry, developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Expectedly, major features will be introduced in this online video game, which players might wait for long years.
Additionally, World of Warcraft released a teaser of World of Warcraft: Midnight and player housing. On the contrary, the trailer doesn’t reveal the details of how the player housing works, its characters, or additional information. It is assumed that the upgraded version of Warcraft will be available in several months or late 2025.
Ion Hazzikostas, Game Director of WoW, said, “It’s an idea that’s been kicked around for a long time—but we knew that to do it, we needed to be able to do it right. It’s a tremendously large undertaking. We’ve also been able to develop enough underlying technology that supports the system that we can now see a clear path to delivering this to players.”
After completing 30 years of the Warcraft franchise, Blizzard announced that the MMORPG allows players to sit back, relax without doing heroic tasks, and have a cuppa at their “home sweet home.” Player housing is a chance to decorate your housing system with trinkets from years of adventuring. This feature has been absent in WoW for a long time, but is common in other prominent games like The Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV.
However, in the game’s fifth expansion (2014), WoW introduced garrisons as an answer to the player housing. Garrisons are customizable bases for players, and they could spend their time building NPC followers that help craft resources. Unfortunately, garrisons were ditched after two years because most players didn’t need them.
Moreover, World of Warcraft declared that play housing would be available in the next expansion: Midnight.
