Samsung is known for its foldable Android smartphones, such as Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 which were launched in the summer of 2024. In addition, Samsung is reportedly working to launch the Z Flip 7 FE, a cost-effective foldable handset.
Industry analyst and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, posted on X, “Those hoping for a Z Flip 7 FE should be excited. It looks like a Samsung FE clamshell is finally coming in 2025.”
The post unveiled that Samsung will introduce the Fan Edition of the Z Flip 6 in 2025. He also pointed out that the Z Flip 7 FE will feature the same display as its predecessor.
Moreover, Samsung Fan Edition refers to the devices that the company developed to experience premium features on FE devices with pocket-friendly costs. The FE series includes Galaxy smartphones, earbuds, and tablets, but folding SE has yet to be included.
Now, Samsung plans to bring Z Flip 7 FE into the FE series to deliver premium experiences for more users. Forbes also posted that the Z Flip 7 screen will have the latest screen, which costs the same as other foldable phones. It indicates that users will have to compromise with certain features when it comes to cost reduction.
Additionally, the Z Flip 7 FE will be expected to have less storage than the Z Flip 7. The camera is also likely targets to make it cost-effective. However, Samsung has not publicly released any official information regarding the launch of Z Flip 7 FE. Even so, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are anticipated to be released in 2025 summer.
