qualcomms latest chip aims to bring 5g connectivity

Qualcomm has just announced its Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip this Tuesday, which is claimed to make 5G accessible to billions of smartphone users around the world.

Equipped with a Qualcomm spectra-dual 12-bit ISP, the chip is bound to deliver seven times faster throughput than Cat4 LTE.

Official Claims:

The Chip Company has also stated that the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip is aiming high to make 5G connection accessible to some of the cheapest phones on the market.

Which is expected to affect 2.8 billion smartphone users in a price-sensitive market such as India and Latin America.

And, according to Carina Affinito, Qualcomm’s staff manager of product marketing — “With this new platform, the result is gigabit 5G smartphones for under $99”.

This means that Qualcomm is aiming to fill the gap in the entry-level smartphone segment. And, Xiaomi is going to be the first company to launch its device based on the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 later this year.

In addition to these monumental changes, the chip aims to deliver up to 40 percent lower latency along with some powerful 37 percent more efficiency, compared to its competing products.

The Qualcomm AqsticTM audio codec enables wideband voice calls with uninterrupted sound delivery, even in a high-resolution music streaming of up to 96kHz.

The new chip also includes an octa-core Kryo CPU that comprises two performance-core, which supports up to 2GHz clock speed. And, six efficiency cores for up to 1.8GHz.

Qualcomm has also claimed that with this new device, users can expect a powerful battery that is capable of lasting all day. And, its Quick ChargeTM 4+ Technology can power the whole device’s battery in just half an hour.
