Google is introducing a new Google Home Favorites widget right for Android. This little gem will let you control all your smart home devices, actions, and automation right from your home screen. No more diving into the app every time you want to turn on a light or check the temp.
But that’s not all.
If you’re rocking a Wear OS smartwatch, there’s a new Favorites tile and complication coming your way too. This means you can access your most-used devices straight from your wrist. Swipe left, and boom—up to five devices at your fingertips. Just tap an icon to unlock your door, dim the lights, or tweak the thermostat.
The new widget on your phone is totally customizable. You can adjust its size, so if you’re like me, you might end up dedicating a whole screen to your smart home controls. It’s available starting today, May 30th, for those in the Google Home app’s public preview.
And for fellow smartwatch lovers, the Wear OS Favorites tile and complication will let you set specific devices to control right from your watch face. Remember, these features pull from the Favorites section of the Google Home app, so make sure to set up your devices there first.
Get ready to feel like a total tech goddess with these new tools rolling out today on devices running Wear OS 3 or higher.
