Apple iPhones to Support New Messaging Feature This Year

Apple announced at WWDC 2024 that iPhones will support RCS (Rich Communication Services) in the fall with the new iOS 18 update. 

This news wasn’t a big surprise to many, as Apple had said earlier this year that RCS would come to iPhones in 2024. 

This suggests that the “chat wars” between various texting services for phones will soon come to an end.What did surprise people was that RCS support was turned on in the first beta version of iOS 18. 

Apple just released iOS 18 beta 2, which supports RCS on iPhones without any special tricks.RCS is a new messaging feature that makes SMS better. It enables you to send high-quality photos, determine whether someone has read your message, and detect when someone is typing.
