AMD launches the Ryzen 9000 series processors but didn’t satisfy gamers and reviewers. The feedback claims that the new 9000 CPU only performs a bit faster than the 7000 series. Hence, the performance doesn’t meet the expectations from AMD’s statement.
However, the manufacturer of processors posted that the new operating system has been designed to perform efficiently with the properly configured system. The latest version of Windows 11 24H2, including an “optimized AMD-specific branch prediction code” improves the performance of Ryzen 9000 series processors from 3 to 13 percent.
Due to discrepancies, AMD conducts the test of new processors’ performance results depending on different specific titles. AMD tests Ryzen 9000 processors and Intel Core processors running in Administrator mode from a standard user account with DDR5-6000 memory. But for security reasons, Windows runs games in Administrator mode by default.
AMD recommended the “optimized AMD-specific branch prediction code in preview through the Windows Insider Program (Release Preview Channel — Build 26100) or by downloading the ISO for Zen 5 users.”
Below is a sample of the performance of Ryzen 9000 with Windows 11 24H2.
Ryzen 9 9950X24H2 | Ryzen 9 9950X23H2 | Performance Delta | |
Far Cry 6 | 183 | 162 | +13% |
Cyberpunk 2077 | 200 | 188 | +7% |
Hitman 3 | 358 | 347 | +3% |
Watch Dogs: Legion | 165 | 165 | No change |
Cinebench 2024 Single Thread | 140 | 140 | No change |
Procyon Office | 10,288 | 9,829 | +6% |
As per AMD reports, the new Ryzen 9000 series will improve the Windows that involves Zen 3 and Zen 4 performance. They make sure for multiple re-testing of processors that could match up the expectations of users.
