new bmw m5 raises concerns with heavyweight design

BMW has just shown off its new 2025 M5. It’s a hybrid sports car with a big V-8 engine that’s also got all-wheel drive. However, the weight of 5,390 pounds is the main topic of conversation.

New BMW M5

That’s heavier than some electric cars, SUVs, and even a pickup truck. The M5 isn’t as quick as the older version. It takes 3.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour, which is slower. It is also not as strong for its weight as the previous one.

This new M5 is over 1,000 pounds heavier than the last model. The car’s weight has gone up suddenly. Earlier M5s didn’t get heavier this fast.

Some even got lighter. It is unexpected to see an increase to half a ton more weight.Other cars from America, like the Dodge Charger Hellcat and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, are much lighter than the M5.

Even BMW’s own i5 electric car is lighter, despite having a big battery.BMW claims the weight increase is due to hybrid technology and emissions regulations. But some car fans think they could have made a lighter hybrid system, like Porsche did with its cars.

People are wondering if BMW will fix this in future M cars. For the time being, the new M5 is a large, heavy car in a world where lighter vehicles are becoming increasingly popular.
