Images of Meta’s Quest 3s Leaked: No Headphone Jack But More Battery Life Assumed

Meta’s Quest 3s

Quest 3s is a virtual reality 3D headset with handheld controllers that gives people an exciting experience of playing games and exploring a fantasy world. It is developed by Reality Labs, a division of meta platforms.

Multiple pictures of Quest 3s have been leaked ahead of its launch. Nine images of the gadget were shared on a channel of a South Korean forum site, Arcalive, which is similar to Reddit. The origin of the photos is still unknown, but the background looks like that of a testing lab.

The leaked photos show the front, top, bottom, rear, and both sides of the headset. This broad view suggests the following:

The Meta headset does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so the Quest 3s owners will have to buy a USB-C audio solution, precluding charging while playing. (It isn’t a new thing for Meta, as Pico 4 and 4 Ultra do not include headphone jacks as well.).

  • It has an 18W charger, the same as the Quest 3.
  • The hand controller also looks identical to that of Quest 3.
  • One of the images showing regulatory reveals shows that its battery capacity is 16.74 wh. People noticed that its battery is inferior to that of Quest 3.

Why do Quest 3s look ‘not up to scratch’ with Quest 3?

The leaked images show that it has inferior lens quality, lower resolution, and a bulkier design than Quest 3.

Reportedly, it has the same color pass-through mixed reality capabilities as Quest 3. The old Fresnel lenses and single panels from Quest 2 have been used in it.

It seems like the makers have tried to make a lower-quality device but with the same content, features, and capabilities to make it more cost-effective so that a wider range of people can enjoy and experience it.
