Qualcomm has hinted at its impending venture into the mini desktop PC market recently and now Lenovo has bought two mini PCs tailored for both businesses as well as consumers.
The ThinkCentre Neo 50q and IdeaCentre Mini x will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series processors, which will bring the capabilities of Copilot Plus PC to a compact desktop design.
The IdeaCentre Mini X is a powerhouse aimed at creatives looking for a silent yet efficient workstation. It has a built-in power supply and a user-friendly case, allowing for easy component swapping. While it is not completely fanless, it does incorporate two fans to balance optimal cooling.
On the front side, users will find a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a headphone jack, and a power button along with a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. Whereas, the rear is equipped with a USB-A 2.0 port, a USB-C 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports and an ethernet port.
The IdeaCentre Mini X can be tailored with either a Snapdragon X chip or the enhanced Snapdragon X Plus. It provides up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage and includes the latest Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
The target of Lenovo’s Think Centre Neo 50q are small to medium-sized businesses and it shares a similar specification profile. It will also run on Snapdragon X or X Plus chips of Qualcomm, however, the maximum RAM will be 16GB.
The front panel will include a headphone jack, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, a power button and a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port. As for the rear, it features an ethernet port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, an HDMI 2.1 port and two USB-A 2.0 ports.
